04.04.07 10:44am - NSBE Wins "Small Chapter of the Year" (Author: D. Perkins)
Who's House? SIX HOUSE!!!! Yes, what you heard is true! Ten (10) members from the NSBE chapter here at UC Riverside recently attended the 33rd Annual NSBE National Convention in Columbus, OH. This conference, which attracts over 10,000 attendees and over 250 top engineering/technical companies, took place from March 28th to April 1st. Out of all the chapters that fit the criteria of a "Small" chapter (which is a LOT of chapters) in our region, Region 6, we took home the gold. That's right, NSBE @ UC Riverside was named the 2006-2007 Region 6 Small Chapter of the Year! This award was presented to us due to the hard work of our E-Board to bring our chapter back up to it's feet from the slow crawl we fell into a few years ago. We now have the membership and the support to lead our chapter on a path to be come a Distinguished Chapter of the Year in the future. Congratulations NSBE! Thanks for all your hard work!
