Program Information
The UCR Computer Engineering International Training and Research Experience for Students (Ceitres@UCR) will host rising junior and senior undergraduates this year for a 10-week research experience with 4 weeks in Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. With a goal of helping students gain the skills and confidence to become independent researchers and make better career decisions, the experience focuses on intensive and direct contact with a large number of faculty (including foreign faculty advisors) and their graduate students through a series of pre-research lectures, hands-on projects, weekly seminars and workshops, industry field trips, and social activities.
The Ceitres@UCR is led by the Computer Engineering Professor Sheldon Tan and Prof Albert Wang. Faculty mentors also include professors from computer science engineer (CSE) department and those from Tsinghua University in China, one of the top universities in China. Faculty mentors will offer a variety of research topics in the general field of Computer Engineering, ranging from nanometer VLSI circuit design, VLSI computer-aided design (CAD), embedded system designs and computer architecture etc.
Students not only get normal research training, they will also
gain unique international experiences for career
development and culture exploration. If selected, students will
join dozens of other undergraduate researchers on campus for a
summer of fun and international adventure. Details of the
projects can be found at Ceitres@UCR web-site.
