webpage. Former InstitutionTexas A & M University, Dept. of CS BiographyProfessor Laxmi Bhuyan received his B.Sc. Engg and M.Sc. Engg. Degrees in Electrical Engineering from Sambalpur University, India, and Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan in 1982. Prior to his joining at UCR, he was a professor of Computer Science at Texas A&M University and Program Director of the Computer Systems Architecture Program at NSF. Dr. Bhuyan is a Fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and a Fellow of the American Advancement in Science (AAAS). He is also an ISI Highly Cited Researcher in Computer Science. Currently, Dr. Bhuyan is the Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems. He was an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Computers, Subject Area Editor of the Journal of Parallel and Distributed Computing, and an Editor of the Parallel Computing journal.
