Professor Thomas Payne received his M.S. and Ph.D in Mathematics from the University of Notre Dame. He has worked as a consultant for a number of R&D companies in California. Current research involves the efficient implementation of various programming language features related issues in operating systems: concurreny, protection and dynamic binding.
