The Application Process
Applicants to the graduate programs should hold a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from an accredited institution in engineering or a related field, a satisfactory overall GPA from their undergraduate studies, three strong letters of recommendation, and high scores on the GRE general test. The weight of evidence from all sources determines admission.
International students, permanent residents, and even U.S. citizens whose native language is not English and who do not have a bachelor's or postgraduate degree from an institution where English is the exclusive language of instruction are required to complete the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum score of 550 for the paper-based test, 213 for the computer-based test, or 80 for the iBT test.
A master's degree is NOT a prerequisite for admission to the Ph.D. program.
