Anastasios I. Mourikis received his Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Minnesota in 2008. His research interests include autonomous vehicle navigation, multi-robot systems, distributed estimation in robot networks, simultaneous localization and mapping, and structure from motion. He has served as a visiting independent advisor at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and as a research and teaching assistant at the University of Minnesota. While at the University of Minnesota, he was awarded the university's 2007 Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship, as well as the Computer Science Department's 2005 and 2006 Excellence in Research awards. He has also received awards from the Greek National Foundation for Scholarships and from the Bodosaki Foundation for his academic performance during his engineering diploma studies. He has served as a reviewer for a number of technical journals and conferences, and is a member of the IEEE, the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society, and the Technical Chamber of Greece.
