Kandis “Leslie” Gilliard-AbdulAziz received her B.S. in chemistry in 2007 from Temple University, and her Ph.D. in chemistry in 2017 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Prior to joining BCOE, Leslie was a postdoctoral researcher in Prof. Raymond Gorte’s laboratory at the University of Pennsylvania where she rationally designed and explored the redox properties of mixed-oxide catalysts.

The Gilliard-AbdulAziz research interests include the rational design, synthesis, characterization and evaluation of catalysts for CO2 capture, pollution control, fossil energy and biomass conversion.
