Hi All:
Please NOTE CHANGES below in the Bourns renovation PHASE 3 move-out schedule.  If you are included in this email – it is because you or someone in your department is potentially impacted.  Important notes:

  • B-230 will be emptied on Tuesday, November 8.  I have recently seen items being added to this room and multiple departments have items in this space.  Everything must go.  Before November 8th:
    • Please prepare by marking items you want to have temporarily stored at Burgess using blue painters tape.
    • If you have items you want relocated, please mark the new room/location on the item using blue painters tape.
    • Please mark any items you want to go to surplus (you will not be able to get these back).
    • Please mark any items you want to go to trash/waste.
    • ALL items from all phases stored at Burgess must be removed at the end of Phase 3); costs for storage of items remaining after end-of-phase 3 move-ins will be charged to departments.

You may see me walking through labs with Burgess personnel between now and moving day.  Please feel free to ask questions if you have them.

All Phase 3 rooms (230, 231, 232,A,B, 233, 234, 235,A,B, 236) should be planning and packing for their moves.

  • Burgess has been hired to assist with moving.
  • E-crates (bins) will be provided for moving small items and chemicals.  I expect you will all need e-crates.  Please let me know when you would like to have e-crates delivered to your team.
  • Using blue painters tape (writing on it with a Sharpee works best):
    • Please mark the new “BUILDING” and “ROOM #” on items going immediately to another location on campus,
    • Please mark “STORE” on items you want stored in the Burgess warehouse for temporary storage (through the project duration),
    • Please mark “SURPLUS” any items you want to go to surplus,
    • Please mark “TRASH” any items you want thrown away.
    • Labs personnel should plan to personally move:
      • Small delicate items,
      • Small valuable items,
      • Personal items.
      • Labs should plan to oversee the Movers on moving day for:
        • Moving large or expensive items, AND
        • Supervising placement of items in new locations (if applicable)

Burgess may NOT legally accept hazardous materials or chemicals of any kind in their warehouse.  Please plan to relocate these in some suitable ON-campus location (lab).

NOTE: I left Suveen’s relocation to his temporary space on this Friday since it sounds as though his team is already working to be ready.  Some other dates have been pushed out to allow you time to prepare.

Please let me know if you have questions and how I can assist.

Maggie
