<title>BCOE Students Score Two Wins at Environmental Design Competition</title>

<description>The team of BCOE students recently won two first place environmental design awards at the WERC: A Consortium for Environmental Education and Technology Development competition in Las Cruces, N.M. They developed a device that replaces a lawnmower's muffler and reduces carbon monoxide by 87 percent, nitrogen oxides by 67 percent, and particulate matter by 44 percent.</description>

<title>BCOE Leads the Way in Undergraduate Research</title>

<title>Princevac Coauthors Groundbreaking Paper on Mechanics of Hummingbird Flight</title>

<description>Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering Marko Princevac is a coauthor of a new research paper that states hovering hummingbirds produce two trails of vortices that help generate the aerodynamic forces required to power and control its flight. The results of the study could find wide application in aerospace technology and the development of unmanned vehicles for medical surveillance after natural disasters.
