Backup Policy
The systems group strongly recommends that all BCoE faculty, staff and students store files directly on department servers. Files located on these servers including the “H drive” are backed upped hourly.
Computers on the ENGR domain attempt to backup files in folders such as My Documents, Desktop, Favorites... and other user settings during each log off process. This process has limitations and does not work properly 100 percent of the time. The systems group recommends not depending on your profile to ensure accurate backups.
Computers not on the domain, such as laptops or other special systems, do not have engineering profiles and are not backed up at all. Users of these computers will need to contact the systems group to make special arrangements if they need files stored on these computers backed up.
