Currently, Universities provide graduating engineers with the education necessary to understand the mathematical and physical principles that are involved in engineering. However, new graduates often lack the applied knowledge and skills necessary for engineers to begin their careers in the workplace. One of the goals of AIChE @ UCR is to ease the transition "from college to career" by providing opportunities for students to visit various industrial plants and chemical engineering environments. In doing so, students that are seeking a career in the excellent field of chemical engineering will be introduced to the various occupational positions available to them after graduation.
Furthermore, by organizing campus events such as exam preparation, résumé building, guest speakers, and student/professor gatherings, AIChE @ UCR will further enrich the collegiate experience for students and staff. For the professors of chemical engineering, AIChE @ UCR would like to recognize and honor them for the genuine effort and devotion expended to help engineering students grasp the challenging concepts conveyed in college instruction.
