"To promote the increase in biomedical engineering knowledge and its utilization"

Our Story

BMES is a new student organization working on promoting bioengineering, networking amongst peers and other organizations, taking field trips to various related companies, participating in community outreach programs, and showing bioengineering in action with a projects group.

The club was initiated in early 2006 by Madison Holsinger and Katie Peterson. One great thing about BCOE is that they really strive for you to succeed. There is an academic club for every engineering major, and we felt it was necessary for us to take it upon ourselves to ensure that bioengineering got the same treatment.

Our first year has been filled with a lot of fun 'group-building' activities such as hikes, games, movie nights, etc. We found it extremely valuable to grow together as a group and build bonds that will help us in our future endeavors as a student organization and as young adults. We're looking forward to planning future outreach events, tours of bioengineering companies, and new/improved projects in future years. Please contact Naubahar Agha if you're interested in our organization nagha001@student.ucr.edu.
