BMES has implemented an outreach project with an after school program called Kids Klub in the Yucaipa School District. BMES will be visiting each site and doing science projects with the kids there. Anyone can come along, here are the dates:

    More information: We will need a representative from each student organization for this outreach event! As a not of clarification - we are not participating in the first one on April 14th (its only for CHASS and AGSM), but we are taking part in those on April 21st and 28th. If you are contacted byJolene Tuz with a request to register for a Discover Day, please ignore her email - all requests for COE Student Organization participation are being handled by Leadership Council, Sonia De La Torre, and Rod Smith. We would like to ask that each organization provide a name and contact email/phone for a designated officer or member who will commit to representing their organization at each of the Discover Days (it doesn't have to be the same person for both). Please send this information to us by this Friday so we may make the necessary arrangements with Student Affairs.

    Business Etiquette Dinner (posted 01/03/2007)

    Participants: All business and engineering students (graduate and undergraduate) are invited, and also in attendance will be company representatives, faculty, and staff.
    More information: The dinner will include a 5-7 course meal accompanied by instructions from an etiquette expert on how to act properly at a business dinner. We will also have guests from several engineering companies rotating around the tables in the room so each attendee will have an opportunity to network with these representatives. Do not bring your resumes (business or calling cards are ok), because the focus of this dinner is not a job application or interview, but learning about proper etiquette.
    Attire: Formal business professional (suit/tie or dress pants and shirt)

    2006 Fall Welcome (posted 09/27/2006)

    The 2006 Fall Welcome will be held on Wednesday, 10/11, from 4-8pm in front of EBU II.

    We are also pleased to announce that we will be featuring a live performance by the band Cuddlefish!

    The event will also present fun, music, prizes, free food, project demonstrations, games, and a chance to talk to the representatives of UCR's BCOE student organizations .

    Food will be served from 4-6pm, and undergrads/grads will need to sign in to receive food tickets (see below for a list of organizations by major and status).  There will also be prize drawings , with prizes TBA--stay tuned!  On-display projects will include (but will not be limited to) the SAE Mini-Baja Vehicle , the ASME Human Powered Vehicle , the AWMA Biodiesel Filtration System , and IEEE robots and projects .

    End of Year Banquet and Ball Recap

    The First Annual BCOE End of Year Awards and Recognition Banquet and Ball was a success! The over 200 attendees included Chancellor France Cordova, Dean Reza Abbaschian, and many faculty, staff, and students of the College of Engineering and their guests.

    The Bourns College of Engineering End of Year Awards and Recognition Banquet and Ball
    Friday, June 2nd, 2006, 6pm until midnight
    Student Recreation Center Main Gym

    Hosted by the College of Engineering Leadership Council, the American
    Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Institute of Electrical and
    Electronics Engineers, the Mechanical Engineering Graduate Student Association and the Society of Women Engineers

    Join us for an awards and recognition banquet for COE students and student organizations!  Afterwards we will have dancing and classic board games and cards.
    Come alone or with friends--no date necessary! All faculty, staff, and students will be invited to attend.

    The program will include a welcome from Dean Abbaschian (pending confirmation), presentations from the co-hosting organizations, a presentation by the Leadership Council on student/organization accomplishments from this past year, and prizes awarded to outstanding organizations and individuals.     Ticket sales will be ongoing in EBU II #102 every day until 5/26. After that date, ticket prices will go up and sales will continue until tickets are sold out.
