Ramya Mohan is a Ph.D. candidate with the Material Science & Engineering program at UCR and an NIJ fellow. The focus of her research is to investigate structure-function relationships in certain tough, impact-resistant and fire-resistant pyrophytic plant species. Ramya received her M.S. in Aerospace Structures from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles where she worked with Prof. Veronica Eliasson on high strain rate loading of marine composites. She received her B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from the Institute of Aeronautical Engineering, Hyderabad, India. Outside of the lab, she enjoys hiking, cooking, travelling, and going to the beach!
