    Spin mediated thermal transport in nanostructures

    The objective of this work is to understand the spin mediated thermal transport in semiconductors, ferromagnetic and dielectric nanostructures. Using 3ω method for freestanding thin films, we measure the the thermal conductivity of Ni80Fe20/MgO/p-Si stack. We also explore the effect of external magnetic field. Figure shows a thermal spin crossover behavior in semiconductor due to spin Seebeck tunneling.

    Characterization of Co/Pd multi layer magnetic thin films

    The objective of this project is to characterize the Co/Pd multilayer ferromagnetic thin films.We are using MFM, MOKE and spin-Hall measurement to understand the spin transfer torque and transport behavior. Figure shows the reduction in coercivity due to spin-orbit torques.

    In-situ transmission electron microscope electro-thermal characterization of ferromagnetic thin films

    The objective of this research is to understand the microstructural grain and magnetic domain behavior under external electro-thermal stimulations. Figure shows a thin film specimen on silicon nitride membrane for in-situ studies.

    Synthesis and characterization of dilute ferromagnetic semiconductor thin films

    The objective of this research is to synthesize and characterize the dilute ferromagnetic semiconductor thin films. Figure shows a preliminary VSM data for different annealing temperatures for TiO2 thin films with Co doping on oxidized silicon substrate.
