Research
My broad research interest is in the field of Environmental Biotechnology. Currently I am working on the understanding and application of biotrickling filters for waste gas treatment, with
Dr. Marc Deshusses (Duke University). Some research aspects that have been/will be covered are: (1) gas-liquid mass transfer in biotrickling filters, (2) designing better packing material for biotrickling filters for improved bacterial adhesion and short start-up times, (3) using novel microorganisms in biotrickling filters to treat contaminants thought to be recalcitrant, and (4) using molecular tools to monitor changes in process culture during performance of biotrickling filters.
