STEM-Focused Data Science Summer Camp

The Bourns College of Engineering at UC Riverside hosts a week-long STEM-focused Data Science Summer Camp from July 13 through July 17, 2026. The camp introduces high-school students to emerging Data Science and Artificial Intelligence fields to prepare them for engineering and science college careers and employment.

Campers will learn Data Science (DS) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) fundamentals. The immersive, custom-designed curriculum includes guided, hands-on lab exercises focused on data extraction, visualization, understanding, and real-world applications. The program will start with essential DS and AI concepts and introductions to Python programming, followed by critical applications.

Allowing students to explore Data Science and Artificial Intelligence is one of the most rewarding aspects of teaching at UC Riverside. Summer camps broaden students' knowledge of the far-reaching impacts of engineering and science while helping them narrow their field of study before they even set foot on a university campus.

UCR has become the center for Data Science and Robotics education in the Inland Empire, offering well designed majors in these fields. You can find more information about the Data Science Major here and for the Robotics Major here.
