STEM-Focused Robotics Summer Camp

Breadcrumb

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UC Riverside hosts a week-long STEM-focused Engineering Robotics Summer Camp. The camp introduces high-school students to emerging STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields to prepare them for engineering college careers and employment.

The camp introduces students to the fundamentals of Electronics and Robotic Systems design. The immersive, custom-designed curriculum includes guided, hands-on lab exercises focused on the most in-demand areas of engineering, including embedded system design, microcontroller programming, autonomous and manual robot-car navigation, obstacle avoidance, and, last but not least, wireless navigation control with mobile phones.

Allowing students to explore STEM is one of the most rewarding aspects of teaching at UCR. Summer camps broaden students' knowledge of the far-reaching impacts of engineering while helping them narrow their field of study before they even step foot on a university campus.
