Senior Design Showcase
The Senior Design Showcase is BCOE’s annual celebration of student innovation, collaboration and real-world engineering practice.
Through a multi-quarter capstone experience, undergraduate engineering students work in teams to design, build and test solutions to complex challenges, culminating in prototypes and presentations shared with the campus, industry partners, alumni and community.
Senior design process
Define the challenge
Students begin with a problem, user need or technical opportunity, then translate ideas into project goals and engineering requirements.
Prototype and test
Teams design, model, fabricate, troubleshoot and refine solutions through hands-on engineering practice.
Share the outcome
The showcase gives students a professional setting to explain their process, demonstrate results and connect with future collaborators.

Where engineering knowledge becomes practice
Senior design brings together technical coursework, teamwork, communication and hands-on problem-solving. Students learn to balance creativity with real-world constraints, including safety, performance, feasibility and impact.
The showcase gives attendees a firsthand look at how engineering solutions evolve from concept to implementation.
- Design reviews and testing

A showcase of student innovation
Each showcase highlights the skills students build through the senior design process, from technical decision-making to public presentation.
Working Prototypes
Explore projects that move beyond concepts into built systems, tested designs and functional demonstrations.
Student Presentations
Hear directly from student engineers as they explain their process, design choices and lessons learned.
Real-World Constraints
See how teams respond to technical, safety, cost, performance and usability requirements.
Industry Connection
Meet students preparing to move from capstone projects into careers, graduate study and entrepreneurship.
Students designing, building and presenting
Senior design brings the BCOE community together around student creativity, technical rigor and hands-on engineering.
