We Engineer Excellence

Signature Student Experience

Senior Design Showcase

The Senior Design Showcase is BCOE’s annual celebration of student innovation, collaboration and real-world engineering practice.

Through a multi-quarter capstone experience, undergraduate engineering students work in teams to design, build and test solutions to complex challenges, culminating in prototypes and presentations shared with the campus, industry partners, alumni and community.

Senior design process

01 / Design

Define the challenge

Students begin with a problem, user need or technical opportunity, then translate ideas into project goals and engineering requirements.

02 / Build

Prototype and test

Teams design, model, fabricate, troubleshoot and refine solutions through hands-on engineering practice.

03 / Present

Share the outcome

The showcase gives students a professional setting to explain their process, demonstrate results and connect with future collaborators.
